Tomorrow's IT Experts at Intec
Intec Business Colleges is helping IT companies in Northamptonshire to recruit and retain tomorrow's high flyers.
The college has a growing pool of ambitious school and college leavers committed to a career in IT and on-the-job vocational training. Each candidate undergoes screening interviews and assessments with Intec before his or her details are circulated to prospective employers. Account Managers visit prospective employers to assess the working environment and identify those candidates who are most likely to integrate successfully. The result is a good match between employer and candidate, and improved long-term prospects, as the experience of AES Control Systems at Moulton Park demonstrates.
The company contacted Intec for assistance in recruiting an IT Support Trainee. After careful consideration, Intec put forward Simon Stringer, 19, who had completed a National Diploma in Electronic Technologies and was keen to join a forward-thinking IT company committed to vocational qualifications. [Project Director], Doug Robins comments:
"Simon has made a valuable contribution to the company since joining AES. We have been very impressed with Intec through their professional approach and the high calibre of candidates that they put forward. Intec were recommended to us from a number of sources and their reputation remains of a very high standard."
Since recruiting Simon, AES Control Systems has put forward one of its existing employees, Ian Morris, for the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in IT.
Intec Account Manager, Anthony Barton concludes:
"Modern Apprenticeships benefit both employers and candidates. The latter gain from being able to achieve a nationally recognised qualification while working full-time. For employers, the advantages are in being able to recruit keen and committed youngsters who are sufficiently dedicated to want to complete a qualification alongside their day to day work activity. For under 24s, the training is government-funded, so there is no cost to employers, and statistics prove that Modern Apprenticeships help companies to retain staff, as they tend to remain with the employer for longer while they complete their qualification."
Intec offers a free screening and recruitment service for all companies looking to recruit Modern Apprentices. For more information, telephone 01604 604441.
