Oxford Brookes University Welcomes Artificial Intelligence

The large multi campus HVAC Control System at Oxford Brookes University has been augmented with a North Building Technologies integrated building management system (iBMS). The iBMS supplied, commissioned and installed by North Approved Systems Partner, AES Control Systems, has had a dramatically positive impact on the management of the site.

Olympic-sized pool lets swimmers expend the energy
Prior to this year's Commonwealth Games, England's successful swimming squad honed their performances in a new £7million, 50m pool at Loughborough University. As well as being among the best facilities in the world for training top swimmers, it is also one of the most energy efficient pools around - the main reason for which is its high reliance on natural ventilation. Its building services were designed by Max Fordham and are largely controlled and monitored by a Trend BMS supplied and engineered by AES Control Systems. Constraints on control panel size, coupled with a heavy monitoring requirement, led AES to choose IQ246 outstations to perform many of the system's functions.

AES gains another place at Oxford
Oxford University's newly opened Said Business School has been praised for its imaginative and well thought out design. Much thought has also gone into the building's HVAC services and the Trend BMS - supplied and engineered by AES Control Systems Ltd - that controls and monitors them. Some 50 of the university's buildings now incorporate Trend control systems.

Number one for Energy Efficiency
The energy required to heat, cool, ventilate and light Cellnet's new Service Provision Division HQ at No1 Leeds City Office Park is only 25% of that needed by a typical prestige office building - and this despite it being fully air conditioned.

AES steps up the pace of control
Rapid response to demanding ventilation requirements is being achieved in a huge car-testing chamber at the Rover Group's Gaydon site in Warwickshire. In particular Trend IQ251 building-services controllers are achieving response times that are not normally required for building-ventilation plant, but at a much lower cost than programmable logic controllers.
